Corinne Brana, PhD

Preclinical Neuroscience Platform Coordinator
Corinne Brana
Corinne likes neurosciences in the broad sense, she thinks the brain is the most complex 'software' ever made. Her interests are neuroanatomy, neuroplasticity, brain disorders and repair.

Corinne joined the Wyss Center in April 2016. She led the development of the Preclinical Neuroscience Platform (PNP) and is responsible for managing the platform resources including equipment, facilities and staff to ensure its smooth running and efficient performance.

She holds a PhD in Neurosciences from the University of Bordeaux 2 (France) where she studied the development of basal ganglia in human brain followed by a Post Doc at the University of Southampton to study neurodegeneration on in vitro models of ischemia and aids, where she also collaborated with the pharmaceutical industry. She continued her research in the field of neurodegenerative diseases in both academia while teaching (Bordeaux 2 and ETHZ) and the pharmaceutical industry.

Before joining the Wyss Center, Corinne worked at Merck Serono and Covance in Geneva, where she was in charge of implementing histology laboratories.

She enjoys working in a multidisciplinary environment, bringing her expertise in neurosciences and contributing to brain discovery and neurodevice research.

Corinne has published articles in peer reviewed journals.
